What is the CHemin du Paradis from Bar sur Loup to Gourdon?

Winding between oak forests and rocky bars, the Chemin du Paradis is the old mule path which linked Bar sur Loup to the perched village of Gourdon. Proof of its importance, it includes sections which have retained their paving.

The Chemin du Paradis hike starting from Bar sur Loup

Departing from our cottages locations-06 in Bar sur Loup towards the village and the St Claude chapel (Chemin de Bessurane). Then we go up the Chemin de Saint Claude, crossing a wood of oaks to reach the Canal du Loup, which we will follow towards the north until crossing the Chemin du Paradis. We then go up to the Foulon aqueduct and the GR 51 and we finish this ascent with multiple bends leading us to Gourdon, classified “Most Beautiful Village in France” (IGN Top25 map n°3643ET, elevation 520 meters, duration : 3h30 round trip).

The CHemin du Paradis is a magnificent path which in time linked Gourdon from the Vallée du Loup. The very steep paved path will offer you a grandiose panorama of the Côte d’Azur and the village of Gourdon, perched on its rocky outcrop.
