Mouans-Sartoux provençal village
Between Cannes and Grasse, just 20 minutes from our furnished tourist accommodation classified “locations-06” in Bar-sur-Loup, and 5 minutes from our charming gîte “l’Olivier” in Mougins, lies a true Provençal treasure: the village of Mouans-Sartoux.
This old village has preserved all the charm of Provençal bastides, with its narrow streets, shaded squares and houses with colourful shutters. Along with Valbonne, Mouans-Sartoux is the only village in the Alpes-Maritimes to have a checkerboard layout, an architectural feature that intrigues visitors. In both summer and winter, its flowery and welcoming streets invite you to stroll and explore after passing through the town hall square and its washhouse, shaded by century-old plane trees.
For art and culture lovers, the Château de Mouans-Sartoux houses a local heritage museum and the Espace de l’Art Concret, where contemporary exhibitions delight the curious.
In the heart of the Pays de Grasse, the Gardens of the International Perfume Museum transport you into a world of captivating scents. From March to October, over 3 hectares, you can admire emblematic flowers such as the centifolia rose, jasmine and tuberose. Botany and perfume lovers will find a true paradise here, ideal for an enriching visit with family or friends.
