The Lake of Sainte Croix
Lake Sainte-Croix extends over an area of 2,200 hectares (10 kilometers long and 2 wide). This natural gem, located between the Var and the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, is prized for its turquoise waters and enchanting landscapes. The dam, built at the entrance to the gorges, near Baudinard, retains 760 million cubic meters of water and produces more than 150 million kWh per year. It supplies electricity to nearby towns while providing an ideal setting for activities such as swimming, sailing, kayaking and hiking, attracting many visitors every year.
It is also a major tourist hub, and offers a privileged space for swimming, boating (electric only), pedal boats or canoeing and also sailing.
But a day at the lake is also the perfect opportunity to discover Moustiers Sainte Marie or the Plateau de Valensole and its lavender fields
