That’s good ! Our lodges are members of the COMPAGNON DE ROUTE association within the Departmental Committee of the French Hiking Federation of the Alpes Maritimes.
To go on good hikes you can obtain the IGN TOP 25364ZET and 3643ET maps relating to the area of our lodges.
There are also Topoguides which are published by the Federation.
The GR are long-distance hiking trails which are marked routes for hiking. These walks take place over several days or several weeks and are managed in France by the French Hiking Federation.
In the Alpes Maritimes, here are the hikes that you can do not far from our cottages
THE GR 4 FROM GRASSE TO ENTREVAUX VIA THE CAUSSOLS PLATEAU.
Duration 5 days.
Departing from Grasse located 9 km from our gites in Bar sur Loup and 6 km from those in Mougins.
Grasse, known for its worldwide reputation as the capital of perfumes, will be your starting point.
Then, taking the legendary ROUTE NAPOLEON you will walk towards Caussols, Gréolières, Aiglun… Finally arriving at Entrevaux.
Entrevaux is one of the most beautiful villages in the hinterland of Nice. It is a village rich in history with a remarkable citadel. Beautiful medieval village with windmills and cathedral to visit.
THE GR51 “BALCONY OF THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA”
Very beautiful hike which passes next to our BAR SUR LOUP cottages.
Hike which starts in Menton and ends at Col de Testanier (290kms / 15 days in total).
You will cross magnificent villages: Ste Agnès (classified as the most beautiful village in France), Gattières, Courmes, Gourdon (classified as the most beautiful village in France), Grasse, Cabris, Théoule sur mer…

THE GR 5 LARRIERE PAYS NICOIS, from St Dalmas Valdeblore to Nice.
Many people hike in St Dalmas because it is a very pretty place. Don’t miss the 11th century Romanesque church (altarpiece/frescoes).
After St Dalmas, we will move on to Levens where you will discover numerous steep terraces planted with large numbers of olive trees. Then we will go to Nice to sing “NISSA LA BELLA…”
