Understanding the difference
A guest room is a room in a guest’s home. More or less luxurious, they may or may not have a private bathroom or shower room. Ditto for the toilets.
If you’re renting a chambre d’hôtes on the Côte d’Azuryou’ll be sleeping in the owners’ home. A house can have a maximum of 5 guest rooms.
On the other hand, if you choose to spend your vacation in a gîte in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azuryou’ll be staying in a self-contained house or apartment that will make you feel right at home.
A gîte is a fully-equipped, furnished accommodation available to you.
Traditionally, bed and breakfasts are rented by the night and cottages by the week. But at locations-06, you can rent your gite by the night for greater freedom.
Bed & breakfasts and lodges can be awarded labels.
Some are also Fleur et Soleil, Gîtes de France, Bienvenue à la Ferme, Qualité Tourisme, Clévacances, Accueil Paysan, Gîte Panda, Clef verte, Green globe, …
Now you can make an informed choice!
