The cut of bitter orange trees for the production of essential oil and hydrosol of small grain
We passionately keep our bitter orange trees. Once the harvest of the flower is over, the time comes for the cut of the trees. This operation has two main functions.
1 / Keep the tree healthy by eliminating dry wood.
2 / Push the tree to make new shoots on which the flowers will appear the following year.
But all these branches, leaves and small oranges still green are not lost. Disliked with the still, they will give the essential oil and the bitter-orange petit-grain hydrosol used in aromatherapy for their calming, sedative, spasmolytic, anti-inflammatory and cellular regenerative properties.
